Quiet Hours at the City Park Ice Rink – peaceful, inclusive skating on February 8th
Budapest Sports Service Center Nonprofit Ltd., together with the Together for Autistic People Foundation, is organizing “quiet hours” at the City Park Ice Rink so that people with autism and their families can enjoy skating in a more predictable, calmer environment.
Date
2026. February 8th (Sunday), 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
What makes this occasion “quiet”?
During this time slot, the conditions for skating are adjusted to minimize sudden, strong stimuli:
- no music will be played,
- the public address system will not be used,
- assistance dogs are permitted,
- the rink is accessible, making skating more comfortable to approach.
Who is it for?
Primarily for people with autism, as well as their family members, companions, and anyone looking for a calmer, more inclusive skating experience.
Why is it worth trying?
Outdoor activity and skating can provide both active relaxation and a positive experience. Time spent on the ice playfully supports coordination and can help build confidence – all within a time slot where we pay special attention to tranquility.
Useful tips for your visit
- It’s advisable to arrive with enough time to comfortably prepare (changing clothes, putting on skates).
- If necessary, plan for short breaks – the goal is a good experience, not speed.
- If you need any assistance, our colleagues on site will be happy to help.
We look forward to welcoming you on February 8th at the City Park Ice Rink, and we hope this morning will provide many with a safe, peaceful, and enriching skating experience.
