The 2026/2027 skating season at City Park Ice Rink kicks off with a very special anniversary. This year we’re celebrating the 100th anniversary of the ice rink’s mechanization, and to mark the occasion, we’re inviting all skating fans to a festive season-opening event. The planned opening date is Friday, November 20, 2026, at 5:00 PM.
City Park Ice Rink is one of Budapest’s most beloved winter sports venues, playing a defining role in the capital’s sporting and community life for generations. The 100th anniversary of the ice rink’s mechanization offers a special opportunity to celebrate the traditions of Hungarian skating together, as well as the history of City Park Ice Rink.
To mark this anniversary season opening, we’re preparing spectacular ice sports shows, music, and a variety of programs.
